About Hoy en Cancún
Hoy en Cancún is a daily agenda of what is happening in Cancún, Isla Mujeres and Puerto Morelos: concerts, theatre, markets, family activities, sports and free events. It answers one question — what can I do today — and it answers it in three seconds, in Spanish or English, on a page that loads instantly.
How an event gets here
Two ways, and both end in human review before anything is published:
- Organisers publish it themselves, free, at /en/submit. You can upload the flyer and we read the details from it.
- A collector reads official sources —state and municipal agendas, venues— and takes only facts: what, when, where, how much and the link. Never other people's descriptions or photos.
Every event collected this way keeps a link to its source, visible at the bottom of the page. If something is wrong, that link is where to check.
What we do not do
- We do not sell tickets. When there is a box office, we link to it.
- We do not charge organisers. Publishing is free and always will be.
- We do not copy other listing sites' curation or text.
- We do not run trackers or advertising cookies.
Open to machines, on purpose
Every public page also exists as Markdown and JSON, there is a REST API and an MCP server, and none of it requires a key to read. If an assistant answers “what is on in Cancún tonight”, we would rather it answered with verified data and a link back. Details at /developers and llms.txt.
Times
All times are Cancún time (America/Cancun, UTC−5, no daylight saving). We always show the absolute date next to the relative one, so “tonight” is never ambiguous.
